A672 C65 EFW Welding Pipe Description
ASTM C65 electrofusion welded pipe is a straight seam electrofusion welded steel pipe based on the ASTM A672 standard, belonging to the 'C65' material grade (carbon steel or low alloy steel), designed for low to medium temperatures and high pressures, and is suitable for the transport of non-corrosive fluids.
Straight seam electric fusion welding (EFW) or double sided submerged arc welding (SAW) process, plate roll forming and welding, the weld is subject to X-ray or ultrasonic flaw detection;
Some models (e.g. CL32) need to be normalised after welding to improve the toughness and uniformity of the weld.
Based on carbon steel or low alloy steel, the chemical composition is in accordance with ASTM standards, carbon content Less than or equal to 0.31%, manganese Less than or equal to 1.3%.
Tensile strength Greater than or equal to 415 MPa, yield strength Greater than or equal to 240 MPa (refer to similar grade C60), suitable for medium and high pressure fluid transport;
Suitable media include water vapour, non-corrosive oil and gas and industrial fluids.
Outer diameter: 406mm-3280mm, wall thickness: 4mm-50mm (support customisation);
Pressure class CL10-CL43, CL22 and CL32 are common models.
